# Banner Best Practices

When designing your ad banners, follow these best practices.

### Size & Resolution

- 580px by 150px renders well on all devices
- Match your signature width
- 72 dpi resolution recommended
- Make images 1x or 2x the HTML dimensions so they won’t blow up beyond the original max size

### Clear Call to Action (CTA)

- Make sure your CTA is clear
- “Get Your Gift” or “Leave a Review” outperforms “Click Here”

### Add Movement

- GIFs are supported & tend to generate more engagement
- Moving banners really catch the eye

### Designing Banners

- **Photoshop & Illustrator:** When designing in programs like these, export your banner at recommended size & dpi outlined above.
- **Canva:** When designing in Canva, try exporting the banner at a much larger size, then open it in a tool like Photoshop to resize it to your actual banner width. The reason for this is because Canva can downgrade the quality of the graphic upon export.

### Template Library

To help you get started, we’ve designed a collection of pre-designed Canva templates.

Choose a template, customize it with your brand's messaging and visual identity, and download the finished banner image.

You will need a [Canva](https://www.canva.com/) account to access and edit the templates. The size of the template should be modified and exported to the size that best fits your signature (Canva Pro required to resize).
