# Displaying the sender or recipient email (Liquid templates)

## Overview

This article uses the current Opensense template syntax, Liquid (**as of 2022**). If you're used to the older format, see [Displaying the sender or recipient email (legacy templates)](https://help.opensense.com/docs/displaying-sender-or-recipient-email-pre-2022-legacy).

Fill in the sender's and recipient's email addresses in the signature automatically, with `{{sgsender}}` and `{{sgrecipient}}`. Common uses:

- Disclaimers
- The email field in the signature template

## Adding the sender or recipient email

You **only** need to replace the email field or value with `{{sgsender}}` or `{{sgrecipient}}` in the HTML.

:::caution[Don't add it as a field]
**Don't** add `sgsender` or `sgrecipient` as a field under **Settings & Fields** on the signature template.
