# Displaying Sender or Recipient Email (Pre-2022 Legacy)

Pre-2022 templates were built using **our legacy HTML syntax**. This article is for you if your tags are in **$tag;** format

Auto-populate the sender and recipient's email address on the signature with **$sgsender;** and **$sgrecipient**

## Common Uses

- Disclaimers
- Email field in the signature templates ![](https://cdn.document360.io/05b0e12d-96a6-4b75-a423-672ab2be88d7/Images/Documentation/oldDisplaySender1.png)
- Replace the email field or email value with **$sgsender;** & **$sgrecipient;** in the HTML. **DO NOT** add this as a field under Settings & Fields on the Signature Template. **It only needs to be added to the HTML**
