# SFTP Sync to Opensense

This article provides a high-level overview of how SFTP sync works with Opensense for securely automating data transfer via `.csv` file.

## SFTP Integration Overview

Opensense supports integration with external systems via SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) to streamline user data delivery in `.csv` format. This enables automated, secure syncing of directory information directly into the Opensense platform, reducing manual effort and increasing data accuracy.

#### 1. Purpose

This integration aims to provide a seamless, automated process for pushing user data into Opensense from your internal systems. Once set up, the integration ensures that any user directory changes, such as new hires, updates, or removals, are reflected in Opensense.

#### 2. How It Works

Your system sends `.csv` files to a secure folder on the Opensense-hosted SFTP server. Opensense then processes those files automatically, syncing the included user data into your Opensense environment.

#### 3. Connection Details

You will receive specific credentials and folder information from the Opensense team. These details are used to configure your side of the connection.

#### 4. Data Format and Mapping

The `.csv` file should include all fields required for your email signature and directory sync setup. Opensense will work with you to map each field to the correct attributes in the platform.

**Column names must be all lowercase, with no spaces—underscores (**`_`**) may be used in place of spaces.**

#### 5. PGP Decryption Support

Opensense supports PGP decryption for customers who require an additional layer of data security.

#### 6. Automation Features

Once the sync is active:

- File uploads are automatically detected and processed
- User records are created or updated without manual intervention
- Changes in your directory system are consistently reflected in Opensense
