# Hidden fields (Liquid templates)

## Overview

This article uses the current Opensense template syntax, Liquid (**as of 2022**). If you're used to the older format, see [Hidden fields (legacy templates)](https://help.opensense.com/docs/hidden-fields-pre-2022-legacy).

## Uses for hidden fields

- A shortened signature block
- Image links (for example, headshots)
- URL links (for example, meeting links)
- Badges and awards

## Setup

In **Designer Studio**, find **Settings & Fields**, and select the **Hide** box next to the field you want to hide.

:::caution[Set hidden fields up as conditional fields]
Hidden fields should **always** be set up as [conditional fields](https://help.opensense.com/docs/conditional-fields-new-liquid-templates). At least one field must stay unhidden; most commonly, that's "name".

In this example, the customer used hidden fields to create a shortened signature block. The hidden data comes from [Compliance](https://help.opensense.com/docs/manual-sync-of-a-csv-file).
