# Saving your signature block in Google Workspace email apps

## Overview

Your Opensense signature block arrives in an Opensense notification email, or is pushed into Gmail for you. When you compose, it appears as plain text. When you send, Opensense transforms it into your full signature design. See [What is the Opensense signature block?](https://help.opensense.com/docs/what-is-the-opensense-signature-block)

To set it up, for each email app and device you send email from:

1. Open the Opensense notification email, then highlight and copy the entire signature block (the "raw signature").
2. Open the app below, paste the signature block into its signature settings, and make it the default.

## Things to keep in mind

:::caution[When your signature won't transform]
- **Viewing emails in your Sent folder.** Opensense signatures appear "un-transformed" in your Sent folder. When you reply to or forward an email from the Sent folder, the un-transformed signature block on the original sent email is removed.
- **Sending an email to yourself**, for example from `jane.doe@abc.com` to `jane.doe@abc.com`.
- **Sending an email to your own email alias**, for example from `jane.doe@abc.com` to `jane@abc.com`.
- **Sending an email to a linked personal email in the iPhone app.** The iPhone app can **transfer** emails between linked email addresses, so the email doesn't pass through Opensense, and **won't** transform.

## Gmail on the web

Your Opensense signature should sync automatically into your Gmail signature settings, as a signature named **My Signature**. To check it:

1. Refresh your web browser.
2. Select the gear icon in the upper right, then **See all settings**.
3. On the **General** tab, scroll down to **Signature**, and review the signature named **My Signature**.
4. Make sure **My Signature** is the default for both **For new emails use** and **On reply/forward use**. If you have multiple email addresses, do this for each one. Branding updates automatically, according to the email address you're using.
5. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and select **Save Changes**. Refresh Gmail before you send a test email.
