How to create a new campaign
1. Start New Campaign
Navigate to Marketing (1), then Campaigns (2). Click on New Campaign (3) in the upper right corner.
💡 Pro-tip:
Toggle to see dashboard in card view or list view (4).Hover over a recipient's name for a pop-up to see a Contact's details like - Title, Company, Industry, etc.
2. Name & Schedule
Pick a unique name for this campaign (1). Enable this campaign to run on a specific schedule (2).
⚠️ Important:
Scheduling is optional. If no schedule is set, the banner will run continuously until it is manually turned off. Be sure to monitor and disable banners as needed to avoid unintended displays.
3. Select Tags
Select the tags you want to associate with the campaign (3). Tags determine which recipients will see the banner. For more details, refer to the targeting section to learn about tags and the banner management section for best practices.
⚠️ Important:
To deactivate a live banner, navigate to the banner, remove the tag, and then click Update. This will stop the banner from displaying.
4. Choose Categories
Choose which categories best match this campaign objective (4).
5. Select Folder
Select a folder to keep campaigns organized (5). This is optional. Folder functionality must be turned on by an admin in order to organize banner campaigns this way. Click on the Next button (6).
6. Select Click Action
Select your Click Action (1) to define where recipients will be redirected when they click your ad banner. Options include a URL, document upload, or video.
7. UTM Parameters
If you select URL, an option to add UTM Parameters will appear (2). This is optional—you can either use your own UTM link or build one using our UTM parameter builder.
⚠️ Important:
When using a UTM link, it is important to use the full link. Opensense cannot track shortened links, such as ones generated from Bitly or HubSpot. As long as you are using UTM parameters in your banner ad marketing campaigns, you can use the data to track your campaigns like you would other campaigns. To deactivate a live banner, navigate to the banner, remove the tag, and then click Update. This will stop the banner from displaying.
8. Choose Ad Type
Choose an ad type, which can be text only or an image (3). If you upload an ad banner image, include alt text (4). See banner best practices.
9. Toggle Options
Inline Image: Enable inline images to ensure deliverability of asset. Having this checked changes the image source from a remote URL to a large data string, so it doesnt need to fetch the image from anywhere.
High-Resolution Image (2x): Enable high-resolution rendering of this asset.
Placeholder Image: Use this banner as a placeholder until rotation while composing.
Allow Internal: Allow internal counting of asset impressions and clicks.
Disable Tracking: Disable view beacons from being embedded with asset.
Click on the Next button (6).
9. Set Up Targeting
These are optional, but useful if using account based marketing to specific recipients or accounts.
Recipient-based: Include email address(es) to target (1).
Domain-based: Include a domain(s) target (2).
⚠️ Important:
If you choose Recipient-based or Domain-based targeting, the banner will be live for the recipient(s) or domain, even if scheduling has expired. Make sure you go in and remove the targeting if you do not want the banner to show up.
10. Click on the Create Campaign button (3).
💡 Pro-tip:
To A/B test a banner, duplicate a banner campaign, update the name (so you can distinguish between banners) and swap any creative you want to test. To do this, go to Campaigns, navigate to a banner, click on the ellipses to the right of it (1), then click on Clone (2).
