The Opensense Google Add-on integrates Opensense-managed email signatures directly into Gmail. The add-on is deployed centrally by a Google Workspace Super Administrator and becomes available to users without requiring individual installation or configuration.

This change supports the organization's goals of standardization, brand consistency, and compliance by enabling centrally managed email signatures for Gmail users. It reduces operational overhead associated with user-managed signatures and enables coordinated signature updates through the Opensense platform.
Prerequisites
Google Workspace Super Administrator access is required to install and configure the add-on.
All sending domains must be configured in Opensense. If a domain is missing, the add-on will not load for users on that domain.

The designated Google Workspace Super Administrator confirms administrative ownership and obtains internal approvals.
Deployment scope is defined (organization-wide or phased rollout).
The Opensense Google Add-on is installed centrally within Google Workspace.

Authentication and application permissions
The add-on uses Google's native admin installation and OAuth permission framework. Permissions are granted once by a Google Workspace Super Administrator and apply to the approved deployment scope.
The following permissions are approved during installation:
Run as a Gmail add-on: Allows the add-on to load and execute within the Gmail interface.
View your country, language, and timezone: Allows access to locale and timezone settings.
See your primary Google Account email address: Allows access to the user's primary email address and any alias email addresses assigned by a Google Workspace administrator.
See your personal info, including any personal info you've made publicly available: Allows access to basic profile information.
Post-deployment ownership
Ongoing management of email signatures, including design, assignment, and governance, is handled within the Opensense portal. No continued Google Workspace administrative effort is required unless the add-on is modified or removed.
